Mr. Mark A. Scott was born March 10, 1961 to Sarah and Willie Scott. God chose to grant him
rest from his labors. As such, He called Mark home on August 6, 2023.
Mark will be remembered as a kind, feisty and compassionate soul who had abiding love for his
family and friends. He enjoyed praying for people and would encourage others to do likewise.
Mark’s favorite words were, “We must always pray for the people...pray for the people.” He
also enjoyed riding his bicycle and was never without one of the fanciest bikes around.
While Mark will be sorely missed, his family is pleased that he is now in his glorified body, has
been afforded rest, is with the Lord, and has been reunited with those who preceded him in
death, namely, his mother, father, aunts, uncles, nephew and family friends.
Mark is survived by Shawntrell Salley, daughter, Lil John, grandson, Devin White, son, Vanessa
and Barbara Scott, sisters, Nicole Jackson and Bre’Anna Scott, nieces, Antionette Wade, sister-
in-Christ, Lamar Hart, brother-in-Christ, Aaron Flagg, family minister and friend, as well as an
extended family and host of friends.
Mark’s family would like to extend a debt of gratitude to those who did a kind deed, shared a
kind word, or exhibited other acts of kindness towards Mark during his time here on earth.
To those reading this tribute…Please be reminded that every person has worth as a creation of
God. And…

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Rom.3:23

As you journey through life, be hypervigilant to those around you. Never cease to lend a hand to
those who may need a hand to hold.
Mark…Perhaps one of the treasures in your chest, is a brand-new bike from God. Enjoy your
time in heaven. We will see you again, sweet one.
