Obituary for Claudette Carter

Obituary
September 2, 1942- November 23, 2022
Claudette Carter, 80, of Pearson, GA transitioned to Heaven on Wednesday November 23, 2022.
She is now with our Heavenly Father and her husband, Lavon. Claudette was born in
Pearson Georgia on September 2, 1942 and had a life full of “living”. She was a gem with MANY facets and filled her life to the full! She played basketball, was a clothing designer, had her own cosmetic and skin care line and trail blazed for a major cosmetic company breaking through boundaries set by gender and race. She was also a career Airforce wife, which was a job in itself! All of these life adventures made her an excellent storyteller and
those stories will be greatly missed. She was a firm believer that the only boundaries people had were those set by themselves. She was a daughter, sister, mother, wife and a force to be reckoned with. She spent the latter years
of her life teaching and preaching and helping people from all walks of life grow in their relationship with the Lord. She helped so many grow in their relationship with Christ and that was really special to her.
Claudette loved her husband of over five decades very much and now the two are together in heaven again. She will be remembered and missed by so many but we know we will see her again and that when we do our relationships will be brand new and renewed with our sister in Christ.
Claudette loved the Lord and everyone she met knew it, there was nothing “traditional about
her and that in itself was a blessing she was truly unique and will be greatly missed. Any that
knew her knew it would be impossible to sum her life up in a paragraph or booklet so this is just
to give a glimpse of her. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Lavonia Lee, Stephanie Walden and Andrea Carter-
Hargett; her grandchildren, Jason Carter, Tyler Theroux and Taylor Knight and her sister,
Johnnie Mae Swinson and large extended family. She is preceded in her passing by her parents,
Johnny and Clynelle Gaskins and her husband Lavon Carter.

Her homegoing will be non traditionally celebrated by a small group of family and friends at a
date later to be determined.
